I love the content Hubspot creates around content and blog strategy. Worth a read and implementing.

Instead, people care about your ideas,your generosity, and your willingness to take risks and learn from mistakes — those are the kinds of things that can give you a voice in the conversation. It isn't enough to simply have a blog —  I've found that documenting your blog strategy is a great way to bridge the gap to successful execution.
